JSW Neo Energy Acquires Virya Infrapower for INR 7.54 Crore

JSW Energy's subsidiary, JSW Neo Energy, has acquired Virya Infrapower for INR 7.54 crore, gaining a ready renewable power site for accelerated project development.

JSW Energy has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary JSW Neo Energy has acquired renewable energy company Virya Infrapower for INR 7.54 crore.

“JSW Neo Energy Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, has entered into a Share Purchase Agreement and acquired 100 percent shares of Virya Infrapower Pvt. Ltd. Consequent to the above, Virya Infrapower has become a step-down subsidiary of the company,” shared JSW Energy in a regulatory filing.

It further added that the acquisition provides opportunity to acquire a ready renewable power site with necessary infrastructure to achieve accelerated project development.

Earlier this month, JSW Energy acquired KSK Mahanadi Power Company Ltd. for INR 16,084 crore, adding 1,800 MW of operational thermal capacity and surpassing the 10 GW milestone. An additional 1,800 MW is under construction.

In January 2025, JSW Neo Energy Ltd., a subsidiary of JSW Energy, completed the acquisition of three special purpose vehicles holding 125 MW of wind energy capacity from Hetero Group for INR 630 crore.

In December 2024, JSW Neo Energy signed a definitive agreement to acquire O2 Power’s 4,696 MW renewable energy platform for INR 12,468 crore.

JSW Energy aims to reach 20 GW generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity significantly before 2030. The company has set an ambitious target of achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2050.
