JSW Neo Energy, a subsidiary of JSW Energy, has announced an investment of INR 9,000 crore for the establishment of a Pumped Storage Project in Telangana.

The announcement was made at the Telangana Pavilion, showcasing the company's commitment to contributing to the state's energy landscape.

The decision was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between JSW Neo Energy and the State Government of Telangana during a meeting held at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

This strategic move underscores the collaborative efforts between the private sector and the government in advancing sustainable energy solutions.

Sajjan Jindal, Chairman of JSW Group, played a pivotal role in this development, as he met with Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy on the sidelines of WEF 2024. During the meeting, Jindal unveiled the ambitious plan for the Pumped Storage Project, emphasizing JSW's commitment to driving innovation and sustainable energy practices.

The proposed project is slated to have a substantial energy generation capacity of 1,500 MW, positioning it as a significant contributor to Telangana's power grid. The investment of INR 9,000 crore reaffirms JSW Energy's dedication to expanding its renewable energy portfolio and aligns with the nation's broader goals of achieving a sustainable and resilient energy infrastructure.

The Pumped Storage Project is expected to play a crucial role in meeting the rising energy demands of Telangana, contributing to the state's vision of a greener and more energy-efficient future.
