JSW Energy Ltd. has announced that it has added 159 MW of greenfield wind power capacity in the quarter so far, resulting in total operational capacity of 8,400 MW.

This added capacity is available ahead of the wind season and is ready to meet the increased energy demand during the upcoming peak demand season, thereby contributing significantly to a sustainable power supply, said the company in a statement.

Subsequent to this capacity addition, the total operational wind capacity of the company stands at 2,826 MW. JSW Energy has been actively expanding its renewable energy portfolio with under-construction capacity of ~8.0 GW. The company aims to achieve a total installed generation capacity of 20 GW significantly before FY2030.

In January 2025, JSW Neo Energy Ltd., a subsidiary of JSW Energy, completed the acquisition of three special purpose vehicles holding 125 MW of wind energy capacity from Hetero Group for INR 630 crore.

In an earning conference call for Q3 FY’25, Sharad Mahendra – Joint Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer said, “We are on track to reach 10 GW of capacity by the end of FY25. In the quarter gone by, we have added 377 MW of capacity to our organic renewal projects, which is entirely wind and represents 47% of the country's wind capacity addition of 800 MW in the third quarter. We are currently constructing 1.1 GW of wind projects for SECI.”
