Solar manufacturing equipment maker Jinchen and solar module manufacturer RenewSys India have announced the signing of the Phase 2 agreement to establish a 1.8 GW Pertop Solar Cell Line and a 1 GW Solar Module Line. This milestone is part of their multi-gigawatt expansion strategy aimed at significantly boosting India’s solar manufacturing capabilities.
The collaboration underscores both companies’ commitment to advancing India’s renewable energy goals by enhancing the production of high-efficiency solar cells and modules. The new 1.8 GW cell line, combined with the 1 GW module line, marks a substantial step forward in solar technology development, strengthening RenewSys’s position as a major player in the solar market.
This latest agreement follows the successful completion of Phase 1, which saw the installation of a 500 MW solar cell line. The expanded capacity will enable RenewSys to meet the growing domestic and international demand for high-performance solar products while supporting India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.
The Phase 2 project is expected to be operational by the end of the next year, with further expansions planned to reach the long-term multi-gigawatt vision set by both companies.
