JBM Ecolife Mobility, a subsidiary of JBM Auto Ltd., has been awarded a significant contract valued at approximately INR 5,500 crore for the procurement, supply, operation, and maintenance of 1,021 electric buses under the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme.
The contract also includes the development of the necessary electric and civil infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration of the e-bus fleet into urban transportation networks.
These state-of-the-art electric buses will be deployed across 19 cities in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Haryana, furthering the government's push towards sustainable public transport. The initiative is designed to improve urban mobility while significantly reducing carbon emissions, contributing to India's clean energy transition.
The project will be executed under the Gross Cost Contracting (GCC) model, ensuring operational efficiency and financial sustainability. A Payment Security Mechanism (PSM) has also been established to guarantee timely payments to electric bus operators, mitigating financial risks and fostering a stable investment climate in the electric mobility sector.
This development aligns with JBM Auto’s long-term sustainability goals, including its Net Zero 2040 commitment. With this latest contract win, JBM Auto's total electric bus order book now stands at over 11,000 buses, reinforcing its position as a leading player in India’s e-mobility ecosystem.
The company received the Letter of Confirmation of Quantities eligible for award from Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), a key implementing agency under the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme.
JBM Ecolife Mobility is dedicated to accelerating India’s transition to clean and green mobility solutions. By focusing on innovative electric vehicle technology and smart infrastructure development, the company continues to play a pivotal role in transforming India’s public transportation landscape.
