Jaideep Malaviya Elected to International Solar Energy Society’s Board

Jaideep Malaviya has been elected on the Board of the Germany-headquartered International Solar Energy Society (ISES) for the term period of 2022-2023.

Jaideep Malaviya has been elected on the Board of the Germany-headquartered International Solar Energy Society (ISES) for the term period of 2022-2023.

Through an election process, Malaviya has been elected among the top eleven candidates who received the highest votes for the Board of Director’s candidature, out of the number of nominations received from across the world.

In his candidature statement, Malaviya stressed the need to motivate young scientists and entrepreneurs from India to develop indigenous technologies to enable India fulfil its ambitious goals of solar energy.

He also expressed the desire to hold the ISES Solar World Congress in India that will enable the world to come and see the commendable work undertaken in solar energy so as to make it amongst the top 5 growing nations.

Malaviya also stressed the need to thrust the ISES movement in India being the world’s oldest solar energy NGO by inviting professionals to join.
As a gesture of 25 years of long service put by professional, ISES had also honoured Malaviya by featuring in the 50 most influential persons promoting solar energy.

The International Solar Energy Society is an UN-accredited NGO for promoting the development and utilisation of renewable energy. It is the longest standing solar organization in the world, with its roots dating back to 1954. In 1963 ISES became accredited with the United Nations and has been working with UN entities and programs since, taking part in important events like the UNFCCC Climate Change Conferences and the UN Commission on Sustainable Development meetings.

It is now active in over 110 countries worldwide, and its members include scientists and researchers, plus many others from industry, solar energy associations and other private and public organisations.
