Jaguar has announced that it will showcase the Type 00 EV Concept, its first concept car under its new brand and design philosophy, in Mumbai, India.

The concept car, which was first presented during the Miami Art Week 2024, is being showcased in Monaco, and it will reach Munich and Tokyo before coming to India. With Type 00, Jaguar is making a shift towards cutting-edge electric mobility.

The Jaguar Type 00 is built on an all-new Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA) layout. The ‘00’ signifies zero emissions and a full reset for the British automaker. The prototype of the Jaguar concept car offers an idea about the designs of EV, the company is planning in the future featuring an elongated bonnet, a rear-set cabin, and a coupe-like silhouette.

The Type 00 EV will offer an impressive range of 770 km on a full charge. However, quick charging for 10 minutes will give 321 km.

The state-of-the-art design offers three customisable interior moods, termed ‘totems’ – Brass, Travertine and Alabaster. These will allow users to personalise their experience by adjusting screen visuals, ambient lighting, and more, creating a customised environment for every journey. The dashboard features two large fold-aways.

Jaguar plans to begin production of the Type 00 Concept around 2025-26 globally. The price is expected to be around USD 1,27,000.

The initial phase will focus on markets in the United Kingdom and the United States of America, where Jaguar has a strong presence. India is slated for phase two, with an expected release in late 2026 or early 2007.
