IPHE's 41st Steering Committee Discusses Deployment of Green Hydrogen and Its Derivatives
Representatives from Austria, Chile, France, the European Commission, Japan, Germany, the Netherlands, the UAE, the UK, the US, Singapore, South Korea, and the host country India participated in the discussions.

The 41st Steering Committee Meeting of the International Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells in the Economy (IPHE) commenced its formal proceedings, hosted by India at the Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, New Delhi.
The meeting saw the participation of esteemed delegates from around the globe. During the inaugural session, Dr. Noe Van Hulst, Vice Chair of IPHE, expressed appreciation for India's National Green Hydrogen Mission and commended the hospitality extended by India to the IPHE delegates.
Ajay Yadav, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, emphasized the importance of utilizing Green Hydrogen to decarbonize the economy and stressed the need for collaborative efforts in this direction.
Representatives from Austria, Chile, France, the European Commission, Japan, Germany, the Netherlands, the UAE, the UK, the US, Singapore, South Korea, and the host country India participated in the discussions.
The committee deliberated on various issues related to the deployment of Green Hydrogen and its derivatives, including international initiatives such as the Glasgow Breakthrough Agenda, Hydrogen Energy Ministerial, Clean Energy Ministerial, and others. Opportunities for collaboration with these initiatives to achieve IPHE goals were explored.
The progress of various working groups (WGs) and task forces (TFs) was reviewed, with IPHE delegates providing suggestions for enhancing their effectiveness. Notably, the IPHE has WGs focusing on 'regulations, codes, standards and safety (RCSS)' and 'education and outreach,' along with TFs dedicated to 'hydrogen skills,' 'hydrogen production analysis,' 'hydrogen certification mechanisms,' and 'hydrogen trade rules.' The committee highlighted the role of the WTO framework in facilitating international trade in Hydrogen.
The day concluded with a review of IPHE's vision and roadmap for short and medium-term work. The proceedings will continue with further discussions and deliberations.
Prior to the formal proceedings, the first day of the five-day Steering Committee Meeting featured an IPHE Academic Outreach session at IIT Delhi. Conference delegates shared valuable insights into the future of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies, setting the stage for substantive discussions during the subsequent days of the meeting.
