Taiwan-based surveying company IOVTEC achieved ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 management system certification through TÜV Rheinland, keeping in line with the growing demands of the industry and to boost its international competitiveness in the rapidly-expanding offshore wind power industry.
The certifications will lead to the enhancement of talent development and maritime engineering potential by laying the groundwork for improvement to service quality, health management and labor safety.
In 2020, IOVTEC and Dutch Geotechnical specialist Fugro entered into a joint venture to form Fugro IOVTEC.
The company has amassed considerable real-word experience with offshore wind farms in Taiwan, and is actively working to fulfill the green energy localization dream.
ISO 9001 quality management system certification shows that a company has standardized the quality management of its products or services to minimize business risk to the organization. On the other hand, ISO 45001 certification helps all enterprises guarantee their employees a safe workplace through improved occupational safety & health performance. Generally, these certifications are seen in the traditional manufacturing industry, and procurement of the same by IOVTEC is seen as a positive shift in the service sector.
Having nearly 150 years of experience with global inspection, testing and certification, TÜV Rheinland began operations in Taiwan 35 years ago as a GWO certification body.
Ryan Hsiang, Manager of Systems Division at TÜV Rheinland, said that in addition to the usual inspection of the control processes, in this particular case auditors also had to evaluate the risks of the operational environment using a mix of service and manufacturing industry requirements while taking maritime climate and green energy policy into account.
