Indian Wind Power Associations 3rd Wind Conference and Exhibition to be held at Coimbatore

Energetica India will be present in the The Third Wind Conference and Exhibition in the series jointly organized by IWPA (Indian Wind Power Association) and WWEA (World Wind Energy Association) to be held from 5th-7th February 2012 in Coimbatore.

The Indian Wind Power Association has been organizing an annual international event from 2009 titled WE20 by 2020 with the sole objective of spreading awareness to facilitate achievement of 20% grid penetration of wind energy by 2020 in India. The Third Wind Conference and Exhibition in the series jointly organized by IWPA and WWEA (World Wind Energy Association) will be held on 5th, 6th and 7th of February 2012 at the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Honorable Minister of New and Renewable Energy has consented to inaugurate the Conference.

INDIAN WIND POWER ASSOCIATION, an association of power producers from wind has more than 1250 members spread throughout India and overseas, members include wind power generators, wind turbine manufacturers, service providers, consultants, educational & research institutions, financial institutions etc.
The Association caters to the needs of all involved in the wind sector.

The National Office of the Association is at Chennai and has a regional office at Delhi. Considering the depth of the activities of IWPA in this arena, independently and in co-ordination with the Central & State Governments, Utilities, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, IREDA, Ministry of Power, Ministry of Environment and Forests, Planning Commission etc, the Association has been enrolled as a member of the WORLD WIND ENERGY ASSOCIATION and its Chairman, Prof.K.Kasthoorirangaian has been elected as its Vice-President in October 2011.

The international event and its cause is to provide clean energy to the nation, a precious input for the development of the manufacturing capacity of India on par with global competitors are being supported by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), Centre for Wind Energy Technology (CWET), TUV Rheinland, India, World Wind Energy Technology Platform, Maharashtra Energy Development Agency and Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency.

The focal issues during this conference will be 20% of wind energy penetration in India by the year 2020 and subjects like Modern Machines and Grid Management Technology, Wind Management Policies and Regulations, Modern trends in Operation and Maintenance of wind farms, Wind power Evacuation and large scale grid integration with a possible solution for the current crisis, potential investment opportunities in manufacturing wind energy solutions.

An arrangement of product launch platform for business products is also in place. The expected delegates for the conference is around 500 and the expected visitors for the exhibition is to the tune of few thousands.Delegates and Visitors to the Conference and Exhibition can witness the launch of a 2000 KW Gamesa Nacelle, the heart and head behind the functioning of a wind mill, power unit products of utility to the wind generators manufactured and traded by Indian and Multi-National companies. Eminent Speakers from India and Abroad, the authorities in the said wind subjects (technical, financial, policies, regulations, etc ) will present & discuss the subject for the benefit of the wind community.

To motivate budding entrepreneurs / professional students, the future citizens of corporate India, slots have been provided to present papers on themes related to wind energy. Getting a cue from these to-be full fledged professionals, the wind industry can reach new heights.The wind sector has been able to contribute to the tune of 5% of the total power generation capacity of the country with an addition of 2300 MW addition during the end of 2011. From the current trend, it is undebatable that the mission for which the conference and exhibition is being conducted will be achieved within the prescribed time frame.

On participation, the major beneficiaries will be Wind Farm Developers, Wind Turbine Manufacturers, Ancillary Equipment Manufacturers, Power Exchanges, Utilities, Service Providers, Administrators, Regulators, Policy Makers, Financial Institutions, Other Stake holders in Wind Energy, Private Equity Funds, Underwriters and NGOs.
