India Showcases Energy Innovations and Environmental Commitment at 26th World Energy Congress

Rotterdam, Netherlands, serves as the global stage for India's demonstration of innovative energy technologies and environmental stewardship at the 26th World Energy Congress, running from April 22 to April 25, 2024.
The India Pavilion, a focal point of the Congress, stands as a testament to India's dedication to advancing clean energy practices on the international platform. Participating Central Public Sector Enterprises, representing the Ministries of Power, New and Renewable Energy, Coal, and Petroleum & Natural Gas, converge to highlight India's leadership in the global energy transition.
The Pavilion's inauguration on April 22, 2024, witnessed the joint ceremonial opening by Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary of the Ministry of Power, Government of India, and Reenat Sandhu, the Ambassador of India to the Netherlands. Among the esteemed guests were Srikant Nagulapalli, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Power, and CMDs and senior officials from prominent organizations like NTPC, POWERGRID, PFC, REC, NHPC, SECI, IREDA, ONGC, and the World Energy Council India.
Highlighting the international significance of India's energy endeavors, the Pavilion welcomed the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Climate and Energy Policy of the Netherlands, Rob Jetten, and Dr. Angela Wilkinson, Secretary General and CEO of the World Energy Council, on April 22. Their visit underlined India's strides in energy transition, garnering appreciation for its unique efforts and progress in the field.
The 26th World Energy Congress, themed 'Redesigning Energy for People and Planet', holds particular significance as it coincides with the World Energy Council's centenary. With a focus on clean and inclusive energy transitions, the Congress aims to navigate the challenges of a rapidly evolving global energy landscape.
World Energy Council India, as a country member of the global World Energy Council established in 1923, has been pivotal in promoting sustainable energy practices. Since joining the Council in 1924, WEC India has operated under the patronage of the Ministry of Power, Government of India, with support from the Ministries of Coal, New & Renewable Energy, Petroleum & Natural Gas, and External Affairs.
