India aims to position itself as a global export hub for electric vehicles (EVs) and advanced batteries, commented Vimal Anand, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce & Industry in a recent curtain raiser event for Bharat Battery Show, 2025 in Le Meridian, Delhi.
IESA will be the host for the Battery Tech Pavilion, Recycling Pavilion, and Charging Infra Pavilion under the umbrella of Bharat Battery Show.
Bharat Battery Show will be part of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 and will be organized at the central Delhi venue Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from January 19-21, 2025.
During the curtain raiser of the event in Le Meridian, Delhi, Vimal Anand, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce & Industry said, “Batteries are the cornerstones of the e-mobility transition, enabling efficient, sustainable, and reliable transportation solutions. By 2030, India will require 300 GWH of advanced batteries for e-mobility. As we accelerate towards a greener future, developing and deploying cutting-edge energy storage technologies is imperative.”
“By incentivizing local manufacturing and innovation, the PLI scheme not only strengthens our capacity to produce high-quality batteries and electric vehicles but also instills a sense of optimism about India's potential to lead the global e-mobility landscape, reducing dependence on imports and boosting economic growth. Under the PM E-drive scheme, the government has also allocated 2000 crores of Indian rupees for fast charging for system development and it will boost EV adoption in India", added Anand.
Debi Prasad Dash, President, IESA said, “We are thrilled to be an integral part of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, which is not just an event but a leading global platform that brings together the brightest minds and leading companies in the mobility sector. IESA is also organizing two pre-event knowledge conferences, the 4th India Battery Manufacturing and Supply Chain Summit on the 15th and 16th of January and the India Battery Recycling and Reuse Summit on the 18th January. Also, two knowledge sessions will be organised during the exhibition days at Bharat Mandapam- startup connect program and India charging infra forum on 21st January. The Battery Tech, Recycling, and Charging Infra Pavilions under the Bharat Battery Show umbrella will be a testament to India’s advancements in these critical areas and our readiness to lead the global mobility revolution."
Epsilon Advanced Materials will announce plans for a cutting-edge LFP & LMFP Cathode Active Materials plant with a target capacity of 100 KTPA by 2030. LICO will introduce its battery energy storage systems (BESS) created from repurposed batteries, specifically for commercial and mobility applications. Replus will unveil its advanced lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries designed for electric trucks (E-trucks) and reveal plans to expand its manufacturing capacity from 1 GWh to 5 GWh to tap into India’s growing market.
Additionally, Nash Energy will highlight its status as India’s first commercial manufacturer of BIS & UN38.3 certified LFP battery cells and its ongoing development of next-generation technology, including solid-state batteries, at its R&D center in Japan. Also, Battrixx is going to unveil a new brand identity and an exciting strategic transformation in the green energy space. The new offerings will be in the e-mobility and electronics space.
Meanwhile, RevX will present its scalable high-voltage battery management system compatible with electric vehicles and energy storage solutions, along with TuringX, a cloud-based platform for advanced battery analysis, and VTS, a 4G telematics solution for comprehensive system monitoring.
