In an effort to catalyze meaningful discussions and collaboration within India's energy sector, the second edition of India Energy Week (IEW) is set to take place in Goa from February 6th to 9th, 2024.

Hosted by the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, IEW 2024 aims to build on the success of its inaugural edition held in Bengaluru in February 2023.

The inaugural event, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasized the unprecedented possibilities emerging in India’s energy sector. Acknowledging the resilience and potential of India’s energy sector, ministers, CEOs, and energy leaders lauded the country's roadmap to energy transition while addressing the needs of the domestic population.

Building on the momentum, IEW 2024 is anticipated to draw over 35,000 attendees, 350 exhibitors, 400 speakers, and 4,000 delegates from over 100 countries. The event will showcase a diverse array of exhibitors, including core oil field services giants, creating a dynamic atmosphere for collaboration and knowledge exchange.

The spotlight at IEW 2024 will illuminate India's intricate energy landscape, characterized by a diverse energy mix, rapid growth in renewable energy, and challenges related to energy access, urbanization, and economic development, all within the context of addressing climate change.

The event will explore themes such as the energy transition of the global south, building a future-ready energy stack, and the impact of localization, regionalization, and globalization on energy-related industrialization and manufacturing processes.

Ministerial, leadership, and technical sessions, along with roundtables, will delve into topics like India’s aggressive net-zero emission target by 2070, reducing carbon emissions by 1 billion tonnes by 2030, and achieving 50 percent power generation from renewable energy by 2030. IEW 2024 will address the energy quadrilemma of balancing security, accessibility, affordability, and sustainability, particularly for developing economies.

Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas; Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri, highlighted India's multipronged strategy at IEW 2023, stating, “To power our rapid growth, India is exploring new pathways to meet spiking energy demand domestically and internationally while ensuring our transition to net-zero.”

IEW 2024 is expected to be a world-class platform, convening policymakers, business leaders, and energy pioneers to collaborate, discover new opportunities, and strengthen partnerships.
