Danish climate and energy minister Lars Aagaard appreciates India for considerably bringing down the renewable energy tariff. The solar and wind power tariffs of India had touched all-time low levels of INR 1.99 per unit and INR 2.43 per unit through the e-reverse auction of projects.
Aagaard further said that Denmark can learn from India’s development of solar energy, adding that both nations embark on the green hydrogen future together.
In his speech at the special plenary session at 'Indian and Denmark: Partners for Green and Sustainable Progress Conference', Aagaard revealed that around 35 years ago, he visited India and since then the country's population has grown by more than 400 million. Further, he praised India's management's efforts for providing electricity to around 700 million people over the years.
India has ambitious plans to install 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and the Danish minister seems bullish about India’s skills to meet the target. He further informed that in order to make the future resilient and green, Denmark is committed to working with India at all levels.
The conference, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), witnessed the signing of various of MoUs. ISS and Tata Power have joined hands to convert the portfolios of India-based clients of ISS to green energy and assess opportunities to extend Tata Power's renewable energy offerings to these portfolios.
Meanwhile, Danish biomass boiler firm Burmeister & Wain Energy was selected by SAEL Industries, to provide six biomass waste to energy boilers.
An MoU was signed between Hempel and L&T to enter new business segments together. L&T also signed a pact with Stiesdal to increase the collaboration within floating offshore wind technology.
An agreement signed between the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) is expected to bridge the gap between researchers and students in both nations.
