India Energy Week 2025 (IEW’25), scheduled from February 11-14 at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, is set to be the largest global energy event of the year, highlighting India’s leadership in the global energy transition. Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, revealed this information while addressing the media.
He disclosed that the event will span 1 lakh square meters and host over 70,000 delegates, 700+ exhibitors, and 500 speakers, making it the second-largest energy gathering globally in terms of ministerial and CEO participation, exhibition space, and session count.
IEW’25 marks a 65 percent rise in exhibition space, a 15 percent increase in sessions to 105, and a 55 percent surge in delegate participation, underscoring India’s growing role in the global energy sector. The event will feature 10 country pavilions, including Canada, Germany, Japan, the USA, and the UK, alongside 8 thematic zones focused on hydrogen, biofuels, and net-zero solutions.
A key highlight will be the Clean Cooking Ministerial, where the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas will present India’s Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) as a global model for clean, affordable, and accessible cooking energy solutions.
Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) will showcase cutting-edge energy innovations. ONGC will unveil a deep-sea simulation game, HPCL will display its Solid Oxide Fuel Cell System, BPCL will introduce an LPG cylinder ATM, and CSIR will present an e-tractor for sustainable agriculture. Meanwhile, the Sustainable Mobility Pavilion by SIAM will exhibit 15 vehicle models from 10 OEMs under the theme ‘People-Centric Mobility Ecosystem’.
As the event prepares to host global energy leaders, ONGC, on the eve of IEW 2025, signed a strategic MoU with bp to strengthen cooperation in oil and gas exploration, production, trading, and emerging energy sectors.
The agreement, signed in the presence of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Petroleum Secretary Pankaj Jain, ONGC Chairman Arun Kumar Singh, and bp EVP William Lin, aims to enhance deep-water exploration, optimise mature fields, and jointly bid for offshore blocks under India’s Open Acreage Licensing Program (OALP). The companies will also collaborate on carbon sequestration and trading, leveraging their expertise for sustainability.
ONGC, India’s largest oil and gas producer, holds the biggest mining license and contributes 63 percent of domestic output, while bp, with a century-long presence in India, operates across fuel retail, aviation fuels, lubricants, and renewables via Jio-bp and Lightsource bp.
Alongside this, Cairn Oil & Gas, Vedanta’s exploration arm, is making a strong impact as a Platinum Sponsor, reinforcing India’s energy self-sufficiency. Leading one of India’s largest exploration campaigns, Cairn is focusing on Deep Sea, Tight Oil, ASP, Shale, and Northeast exploration to boost domestic production and reduce import dependence.
Under #ExploreIndiaWithCairn, the company will engage with global energy leaders, technology experts, and service providers to unlock India’s hydrocarbon potential.
Hitesh Vaid, CFO of Cairn Oil & Gas, emphasised India's leadership in the energy transition, noting that the evolving geopolitical landscape and reforms highlight the importance of domestic production. He expressed Cairn's commitment to supporting Aatmanirbhar Bharat by collaborating with E&P players and service providers to reduce import dependency and strengthen the nation.
At IEW 2025, Cairn will present its Net Zero by 2030 roadmap, digitalisation strategies, and innovations in exploration and production.
IEW 2025 is set to be a landmark event, bringing together global leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to drive discussions on innovation, sustainability, and energy security.
