The four-day India Energy Week (IEW) 2025 (Feb. 11-14) was virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, New Delhi, bringing together global leaders to discuss critical energy developments and foster international collaboration for a sustainable future.

Among the key announcements, the first day of the event witnessed Honeywell and AM Green signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) using ethanol, green methanol, and green hydrogen. This initiative aims to enhance India's energy security, reduce crude oil import dependence, and position the country as a global leader in alternative fuels. Furthermore, the partnership aligns with the government’s SAF blending mandates and CORSIA targets for airlines, with a feasibility study expected to conclude by mid-2025. The project also supports India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission, creating opportunities for Indian farmers and boosting clean energy growth.

At the same time, Atlas Copco Specialty Rental showcased its energy-efficient solutions at IEW 2025, reinforcing its commitment to India's energy transition and sustainability goals. The company introduced the bubble curtain application to India, along with advanced oil-free air compressors, on-site nitrogen generators, and industrial steam boilers, all designed for energy efficiency and operational uptime. Country Manager Mukesh Sharma emphasised the importance of minimising downtime through flexible, cost-effective rental solutions. Notably, Atlas Copco’s eco-friendly bubble curtain system, designed for offshore construction, helps conserve marine life and reduce noise pollution, reflecting the company's dedication to environmental sustainability.

Meanwhile, the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) hosted the Sustainable Mobility Pavilion at IEW 2025, themed 'People-Centric Mobility Ecosystem.' The pavilion featured 15 cutting-edge vehicles and technologies across multiple fuel and powertrain solutions, including Flex Fuel, Gas, Compressed Biogas, Pure Electric, and Hydrogen. Leading OEMs such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, and Mahindra & Mahindra showcased their production-ready vehicles, reinforcing the industry’s commitment to decarbonising transportation. SIAM Executive Director Prashant K. Banerjee highlighted the sector’s proactive role in supporting India’s Net Zero target by 2070, promoting cleaner and more sustainable mobility solutions.

Further, marking its 15th foundation day, Energy Efficiency Services Ltd. (EESL) signed transformative MoUs worth INR 500 crore at IEW 2025, strengthening its commitment to sustainable energy transformation.

The partnerships with IMT-GT, GGAF, and IIT Hyderabad will drive energy-efficient innovations across lighting, clean cooking, renewable energy, electric mobility, and cooling technologies. Additionally, EESL announced the launch of Solar Power Micro Cold Storage Solutions (SPMCS) in collaboration with HP Nursery Management Society (Himachal Pradesh), Susag Millet Producer Company Ltd., and Giri Siri Tribal Farmers Producer Organisation (Andhra Pradesh). These initiatives aim to support farmers by reducing post-harvest losses and cutting greenhouse gas emissions at the farm gate.

Furthermore, the EESL booth and EESLmart booth attracted significant interest at IEW 2025, showcasing innovative energy-efficient products such as induction cooktops, 5-star rated BLDC fans and air conditioners, rechargeable emergency bulbs, and e-bicycles. EESL CEO Vishal Kapoor emphasised the company’s leadership in advancing India’s energy efficiency goals and its unwavering commitment to sustainable solutions and technological innovation.

With global stakeholders, government representatives, and industry leaders convening at IEW 2025, the event continues to drive India’s energy transition, accelerating efforts toward a cleaner and more sustainable future.
