The India Energy Storage Week (IESW) has announced a gathering of Ministries, Government Representatives, and Companies from over 20 countries, aiming to support India’s ambition to achieve its net zero goals and support its growing importance in the global energy storage, electric vehicle (EV), clean tech, and green hydrogen markets.
The upcoming 10th edition of the IESW, organized by the India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA), is scheduled to take place in New Delhi from July 1-5, 2024. This International Conference and Expo is also backed by the Australian and Norwegian governments as country partners, featuring dedicated pavilions from both nations.
With a focus on driving innovation and progress in the battery and energy storage ecosystem, IESW 2024 aims to spotlight not only traditional solutions like batteries and thermal storage but also emerging and futuristic technologies such as Solid-state batteries, Lithium Sulfur, Sodium Ion, and others from around the world.
A notable highlight of the event is its emphasis on cutting-edge solutions, with global startups like LINA Energy from the UK showcasing sodium-ion battery solutions, alongside exhibitions from Galion in Australia and Blue Solutions in France, presenting their Lithium-sulfur battery technology and solid-state batteries respectively.
Moreover, the 'World Advanced Batteries Conference (W-ABC) 2024’ will convene global leaders from organizations such as the Smart Energy Council (Australia), Singapore Battery Consortium, China Energy Storage Alliance (CNESA), and the Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES) Council to discuss global opportunities in batteries.
Dr. Rahul Walawalkar, President of IESA and Customized Energy Solutions, India, expressed enthusiasm about the international participation, stating, “Over the last 10 years, the IESW annual conference has become a good platform for bringing together all stakeholders across the complete ecosystem for stationary energy storage, e-mobility, and green hydrogen.”
As a platform to bridge global markets, IESW 2024 aims to showcase Indian companies and solutions to the international battery and energy storage community while facilitating the entry of global companies into the Indian battery market.
Furthermore, as part of the US-India Energy Storage Taskforce, the US Department of Energy, in collaboration with IESA, will host a 'US-India Energy Storage Seminar' during the event.
