Hithium to Set Up 5 GWh BESS Production Facility in Saudi Arabia
Hithium has entered a joint venture with MANAT to establish a 5 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia.

Hithium Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. (Hithium) has announced that the company is entering into a joint venture with MANAT. The collaboration aims to leverage Hithium’s expertise in energy storage and MANAT’s local insight to better serve the Saudi Arabia market. The joint venture plans to establish Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) manufacturing facilities in Saudi Arabia, targeting an annual production capacity of 5 GWh.
Commenting on the development, Sean Sun, GM of the MEA region of Hithium said, “Our partnership with MANAT underscores Hithium’s commitment to nurturing strong local relationships and advancing the region’s long-term development goals. By establishing this subsidiary and investing in a local BESS factory, we are not only expanding our global footprint but also directly contributing to Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. ‘Local for Local’ is our promise to foster local energy storage growth.”
The company made the announcement during its participation at Solar and Storage Live KSA in Riyadh. During the exhibition, Hithium also unveiled its energy storage solutions dedicated to desert applications. The company stated that these systems feature advanced sandstorm protection and robust high and low-temperature designs, supporting ultra-long discharge cycles of 12+ hours. The new product line is customised to meet the unique demands of the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.
