Hithium Announces its New 5 MWh Container Product
Due to the more compact design, the 5 MWh container will deliver an energy density of 117 Wh/l. This is 46% more than the 80 Wh/l available in standard systems based on 280 Ah cells. The product will also be technically compatible with the power control systems and bidirectional inverters of most leading inverter brands.

Hithium has announced a new 5 megawatt-hour (MWh) container product using the standard 20-foot container structure. The more compact second generation energy storage system (ESS 2.0) with higher capacity is delivered pre-installed and ready for connection.
It will be equipped with 48 battery modules based on the manufacturer's new 314 Ah LFP cells. Each module offers a capacity of 104.5 kWh and is designed to meet the requirements of large utility systems.

The new energy storage system, called “HiTHIUM ∞Block,” is equipped with the company’s sophisticated multi-stage liquid cooling technology that keeps cell temperature fluctuations below 3° Celsius. Intelligent thermal management also allows the system to optimize battery performance and reduce internal energy consumption. Other safety features include multi-level fault detection systems, cell monitoring, gas and smoke detection and automatic fire extinguishing.
Hithium first shared the news of the groundbreaking product with key customers and industry partners at a private VIP event ahead of the RE+ trade show in Las Vegas.
Mizhi Zhang, Head of Global Business at Hithium, said: “The way our team made the necessary breakthroughs to bring this product to market validates our company vision. The goal is to make energy storage more cost-effective through scaling. This new 5 MWh container shows that we can increase capacity and reduce LCOS to make the energy transition truly affordable.”
With 11 GWh of battery products shipped since the company was founded in 2019, Hithium is expanding its production capacity to 70 GWh by the end of this year.
