HG Infra Receives LoA for 185 MW/370 MWh BESS Project from NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam

HG Infra Engineering Ltd. has secured an INR 1,110 crore project from NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd. to develop 185 MW/370 MWh standalone battery energy storage systems as part of a 500 MW/1000 MWh BESS auction initiative through global competitive bidding.

HG Infra Engineering Ltd. has announced that the company has received the letter of award from the NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd. for setting up of 500 MW/1000 MWh standalone battery energy storage systems in India with viability gap funding support.

HG Infra will handle 185 MW/370 MWh of the total capacity at a tariff rate of INR 2,38,000 per MW per month. The project is valued at approximately INR 1,110 crore and has a completion timeline of 1.5 years.

The company bagged the project through tariff-based global competitive bidding (Ess-tranche no. 01). The tender for this was floated in September this year.

Other winners from the auction included IndiGrid 2 Ltd. which won 250 MW at a tariff of INR 2,36,999/MW/month. Kintech Synergy Pvt. Ltd. quoted INR 2,37,490/MW/month for its 65 MW.
