Hero Future Energies has won the ‘Renewable Energy Project of the Year Award (Solar)’ at the Good Air Awards 2024, organised by the IHW Council. The company has received the award for its 300 MW solar energy plant located in Bhadla, Rajasthan.

Hero Future Energies is honoured by this recognition, which further strengthens the company’s commitment to upholding its highest standards of efficiency in operating assets and meeting India’s energy needs sustainably.

Spread over an area of 1,500 acres, the Hero Bhadla Phase-III solar power project helps reduce approximately 693,327 tCO2e greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) annually, which means it displaces about 741,845 MWh amount of electricity per year generated mostly from thermal and fossil fuel-based power plants.

The Hero Bhadla Phase-III solar power project generates approximately 900,443.59 MWh of renewable energy, actively contributing to achieving SDG 7, which ensures access to reliable, sustainable and affordable power supply for all.

The 300 MW solar power project got commissioned in April 2020 and is part of the world’s largest solar park with a total installed capacity of 2,245 MW. The sprawling Bhadla solar complex was constructed at a cost of INR 14,000 crores, covering an area of 56 square kilometres.

The Bhadla Solar Park project is developed under the joint venture of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and the Government of Rajasthan. The multi-billion park successfully contributed to India’s goal of achieving 100 GW and meeting its National Solar Mission by 2022.
