Hedge5 Signs INR 500 Crore MoU with Assam Govt for Renewable and Biogas Projects

Hedge5 Manufacturing Solutions Pvt. Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Assam to invest INR 500 crore in renewable energy and compressed biogas (CBG) projects.

The agreement aims to strengthen Assam’s clean energy infrastructure and generate 100 direct jobs.The first project involves the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a 5 MW renewable power plant, integrating solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) for round-the-clock power generation. It is expected to begin operations by December 2025.

The second project will establish five 5TPD (tons per day) CBG plants, contributing to Assam’s green energy transition. Production is scheduled to start by January 2026.

The Assam government has pledged assistance in securing all necessary permissions, approvals, and clearances from relevant authorities. The MoU is valid for 12 months, with an extension option by mutual agreement.

The agreement was signed by Chaitanyaram Joshi, COO of Hedge5, and Dr. Krishna Kumar Dwivedi, Principal Secretary, Power (E) Department, Assam Government. Hedge5 will also submit a Common Application Form (CAF) through the Assam Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) Portal to ensure statutory approvals before project commencement.

This investment is a major step in Assam’s renewable energy expansion, boosting employment and supporting sustainable energy solutions.
