Hazoor Multi Projects Ltd. (HMPL), a key player in the infrastructure and energy sectors, has announced plans to develop a 500-MW solar power project in Andhra Pradesh, with an estimated investment of INR 2,500 crore.

The company has submitted a formal proposal to the Andhra Pradesh state government to establish the project in Prakasam district, covering approximately 2,000 acres of land.

The Andhra Pradesh government, through the New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation (NREDCAP), is facilitating the project and has requested HMPL to submit a detailed project report (DPR) for further evaluation. This move aligns with the state's push for renewable energy expansion, positioning Andhra Pradesh as a major hub for solar power generation.

HMPL has been actively expanding its renewable energy portfolio. Recently, the company entered the domestic renewable energy market with large-scale solar projects, adding a total capacity of 1.2 GW spread over 4,200 acres in Maharashtra. The Andhra Pradesh project marks a significant milestone in HMPL’s growth strategy, reinforcing its commitment to advancing clean energy solutions across India.

With state support and NREDCAP's involvement, the proposed 500 MW solar park in Prakasam district is expected to contribute significantly to India's renewable energy targets while boosting local employment and economic growth in the region.
