Gujarat Wins Several Awards at RE-INVEST: 24, Launches 'Mission 100 GW'
At RE-INVEST 2024, Gujarat won several awards for its renewable energy achievements, including top rankings in overall renewable and wind power capacities. The State also launched 'Mission 100 GW of RE in Gujarat', targeting 100 GW of renewable energy by 2030.

Gujarat emerged as the top achiever in renewable energy, with an installed capacity of approximately 29 GW, earning the highest achiever award at the 4th Global Renewable Energy Investors Meet and Expo (RE-INVEST 2024). The State has made significant strides with ~12 GW in wind power, ~14 GW in solar power, and ~4 GW from rooftop solar.
Gujarat secured top rankings in multiple categories at the RE-INVEST 2024 event, including overall renewable energy capacity and wind power capacity. While the State led in wind power and total renewable energy capacity, it placed second in solar power capacity, with Rajasthan taking the top spot with a solar capacity of over 22 GW.
Other States recognised for their renewable energy achievements include Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, which also won awards in various categories. WHile, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand also received accolades for their contributions to hydro power capacity.
Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Prahlad Joshi, Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, and Chief Ministers from Gujarat and other states attended the event, where a collective pledge to generate 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030 was made.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel launched the 'Mission 100 GW of Renewable Energy in Gujarat,' setting an ambitious goal for the State to install 100 GW by 2030. He also released ‘Gujarat Energy Vision 2047'.
This initiative is expected to play a key role in India’s green energy ambitions. CM Patel emphasised the importance of sector-specific policies and emerging technologies to achieve these goals.
