Gujarat to Develop Green Energy-Powered Industrial Hub, Says CM Patel

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel reaffirmed the state’s commitment to green energy and industrial growth at the CII Gujarat Annual Meet 2025, emphasising the government’s vision for a sustainable and prosperous future.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister outlined the state's initiatives to drive green energy investments and enhance Gujarat’s global industrial competitiveness. He announced that the state government is dedicated to ensuring a sustainable supply of green energy for industries, similar to the strides made in the agricultural sector. Highlighting the state's forward-looking approach, he revealed that one of Gujarat's GIDCs (Gujarat Industrial Development Corporations) is being developed as a model industrial hub powered entirely by renewable energy. This initiative aims to encourage industries to transition toward sustainable energy sources and reduce their carbon footprint.
He noted that the national mindset has transformed, making this the ideal time for collective efforts toward building a ‘Viksit Bharat’. Acknowledging Gujarat’s pivotal role as India’s growth engine, Patel urged industries to focus on enhancing product quality and packaging to strengthen their global competitiveness. He expressed confidence that Gujarat's products can establish a strong international presence through collaborative efforts between the industrial sector and the government. Citing the success of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, the Chief Minister pointed out that nearly half of the total MoUs signed were related to green energy, underscoring the state's unwavering commitment to sustainable development.
The CII Gujarat Annual Meet 2025 featured discussions on the theme 'Viksit Gujarat: Powering a Prosperous India.' Industry leaders and policymakers deliberated on strategies to accelerate industrial growth, investment opportunities, and policy frameworks. CII Gujarat Chairperson Swati Salgaocar emphasised that CII, with its 600+ members, is actively working in alignment with the government's vision of 'Sauno Saath, Sauno Vikas' to unlock new trade and industrial growth opportunities.
She stated that Gujarat’s progressive policies have played a key role in rapid industrial development and highlighted major investment hubs like GIFT City, Dholera SIR, and PM MITRA Parks, which have emerged as attractive destinations for businesses. Expressing confidence that the collaboration between CII and the Gujarat Government would be a crucial step in achieving a Viksit Gujarat, she underscored the organisation's commitment to fostering industrial growth.
CII Gujarat Chairman Kulin Lalbhai acknowledged the Gujarat government’s proactive approach to resolving industrial challenges and fostering an ease-of-doing-business environment. He stated that Gujarat is making remarkable strides in various industrial sectors and is emerging as a strong center of India’s economic development.
The CII Gujarat Annual Meet 2025 saw participation from key dignitaries, including Vice Chairman CII Gujarat Premraj Kashyap, Regional Director CII Dr. Rajesh Kapoor, former CII Chairpersons, members of the CII Western Region and Gujarat State Council, along with Zonal Council Chairpersons, Vice-Chairpersons, and Convenors of State Panels.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment to accelerating Gujarat’s industrial transformation, strengthening its global presence, and reinforcing its leadership in green energy investments.
