Indigenous alkaline electrolyser manufacturer Greenzo Energy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RBM Infracon Ltd. to explore green hydrogen generation markets in Gujarat. The partnership aims to establish green hydrogen facilities with a combined capacity of 15 MW across Jamnagar, Kutch, and Bhuj backed by an investment of INR 200 crore.
Under the MoU, Greenzo Energy will lead the design, development, engineering, procurement, and commissioning of the plants. The comprehensive services will cover a wide range of components, including the company’s indigenously developed electrolyser units with each unit rated 5 MW, separation units, purification units, and storage facilities.
The project is slated to commence in the fourth quarter of FY 2024-25 and will be implemented in phases over an 18-month period. The first phase will commence in Jamnagar, followed by expansion into Kutch and Bhuj based on market demand. With this project, the company’s order book now stands at INR 1,400 crores.
Commenting on the development, Sandeep Agarwal, Founder and Managing Director of Greenzo Energy said, “This partnership will be instrumental in developing multiple green hydrogen projects across key regions like Jamnagar, Kutch, and Bhuj, which will serve as a critical contributor to major India’s corporate companies.”
He further added, “Our green hydrogen will support their operations, particularly in refineries where reducing sulphur content and carbon footprint is vital. It will also play an important role in the fertiliser industry, replacing conventional methods and promoting more sustainable agricultural practices.”
Commenting on the collaboration Jay Bajrang Mani, Chairman and Managing Director of RBM Infracon Ltd. said, “This partnership for green hydrogen generation in Gujarat is a pivotal moment for RBM Infracon. It perfectly aligns with our vision for sustainable infrastructure and positions us at the forefront of the clean energy revolution.”
He further added, “By merging our project expertise with cutting-edge technology, we're not just building infrastructure – we're shaping the future of energy in India. This 15 MW project in Jamnagar, Kutch, and Bhuj is our first step towards a greener, more sustainable future, promising technological advancement, job creation, and economic growth for the region.”
Greenzo’s unique alkaline electrolyser, produced at its Sanand facility in Gujarat, is customised to India's climate and provides a longer lifespan along with the ability to deliver hydrogen at 30 bar pressure, which eliminates the need for additional compressors, the company claimed.
The company recently secured a multi-crore contract from Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Ltd. (TANGEDCO) for a super-critical thermal power plant and has also received orders from the government of Oman and a prominent public sector company in Nepal in the past.
