Global solar inverter provider GoodWe has launched its LVSMT-US series, a new line of inverters tailored for small commercial and industrial (C&I) solar projects. These inverters offer flexible calibration during commissioning, accommodating a variety of sizes and voltage outputs, including 22/28 kW at 208 V, 23/30 kW at 220 V, and 25/32 kW at 240 V.
Michael Mendik, Country Manager for GoodWe USA and Canada, highlighted the groundbreaking flexibility of the new inverter's voltage and capacity options. The LVSMT-US series builds on the proven string inverter technology of GoodWe’s SMT-US series, which is used for medium to large C&I installations, but with enhanced safety features.
The LVSMT-US is a three-phase, low-voltage inverter equipped with four maximum power point trackers (MPPT) and features a rapid shutdown transmitter to meet safety standards without additional module-level hardware. It boasts a maximum efficiency of 97.5 percent, a wide voltage operating range of 180 V to 950 V, and 180 percent DC oversizing capability. The inverter also includes smart shadow scanning to handle temporary shading without needing module-level power electronics (MLPE).
Additional features include Type II Surge Protection on both DC and AC sides, integrated AFCI, and a NEMA Type 4X rating. Mendik emphasized that the LVSMT-US series extends the advanced string-inverter technology from GoodWe’s SMT-US series to the small C&I market, offering a cost-effective solution for various applications, including carports, schools, healthcare facilities, and retail spaces.
GoodWe's product portfolio for commercial and industrial applications includes inverters, smart meters, and loggers for monitoring. Headquartered in China and listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, GoodWe employs nearly 5,000 people and has installed over 71 GW across more than 100 countries by the end of 2023.
