“India has green ambitions, which Danfoss' solutions can help to fulfill. We can help increase machine productivity, reduce emissions, lower energy consumption, and enable electrificationfor the benefit of people and the climate. The opportunity to create a closer collaboration with India on energy efficiency, an Indian ProjectZero, or other beacon projects in India, is better than ever,” said Kim Fausing.

During the visit, India's ambassador emphasized Denmark’s green, strategic partnership with India, which will help the Indian government to fulfill the country's ambitions for the green transition.

“The India-Denmark Green Strategic Partnership focusses in large measure on matching the skills of Denmark with the scale of India. Danish companies such as Danfoss have technologies of relevance to India and are also experienced in doing business with India. I am excited by the solutions that I saw here in Sønderborg today, the global capital of energy efficiency,” said H.E., Ambassador Pooja Kapur.

The latest monitoring report showed that the Sønderborg area's energy-related CO2 emissions have been reduced by 55.4% since 2007. This corresponds to over 388,000 tonnes of CO2.

It was the director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), Dr. Fatih Birol, who called Sønderborg the 'Global Capital of Energy Efficiency' after witnessingits significant decarbonization efforts.
