Goa to Roll Out New Renewable Energy Policy Soon
According to the reports, the state’s policy includes solar and hydropower among other sources of renewable energy. Goa claims to be the first state in India to prepare such an elaborative plan.

Goa is all set to have a new renewable energy policy. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant recently announced that by 2030, the state plans to switch to green energy for most of its requirements. He further said that a related descriptive plan has been prepared by Goa. The state would soon forward renewable energy policy to the central government.
As per the reports, the state’s policy includes solar and hydropower among other sources of renewable energy. Goa claims to be the first state in India to prepare such an elaborative plan. It would be able to implement the policy after it has been approved by the union government.
According to Sawant's tweet, “Being the land of sun and sand, Goa provides the perfect setting to harness solar energy and embrace sustainable energy consumption.”
Prime Minister Modi also took to Twitter to appreciate Goa for its plans. "Happy to see Goa harnessing the power of the sun. This collaborative effort will boost sustainable development," he tweeted in response to the tweet by Pramod Sawant.
Goa is walking the transformative path set by the Prime Minister for making the future green and sustainable.
