GameChange Solar (GCS), a global leader in advanced and cost-effective solar tracking solutions, has officially opened a new facility exclusively dedicated to its Genius Tracker™ solar trackers in Feira de Santana, Bahia, Brazil.

The factory, operational since November 2023, has a production capacity of 2.5 GW of trackers, with plans for expansion to meet growing demand. This strategic move positions the Brazilian facility not only to serve the local market but also to supply Genius Tracker units to other Latin American countries.

The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) has granted FINAME certification for GameChange Solar's Genius Tracker trackers, ensuring compliance with Brazil's domestic content and manufacturing process requirements.

Vikas Bansal, International President at GameChange Solar, stated, "Opening our new factory in Brazil demonstrates GameChange Solar's commitment to the Brazilian solar economy. As a global leader in solar tracker technology, we are thrilled to be operational, FINAME-compliant, and providing high-quality solar jobs in one of the fastest-growing solar markets globally. We are open for business and will start fulfilling orders immediately."

Ion Accosta, Operations Director & Head of Brazil at GameChange Solar, emphasized the significance of having a factory, service center, and business headquarters in São Paolo. He noted, "We will be able to provide unparalleled service to our customers with the ability to offer in-country manufacturing, training, service, and support."

Recent forecasts by Absolar, Brazil's solar energy association, indicate that new investments in the country's solar PV industry could exceed BRL 38.9 billion (USD 7.8 billion) in 2024.

Developers are expected to install more than 9.3 GW of solar capacity this year, highlighting the immense growth potential in Brazil's solar energy sector.
