G R Infraprojects Bags ISTS Project in Karnataka

G R Infraprojects has received a letter of intent (LoI) from PFC Consulting Ltd. to develop an inter-state transmission system (ISTS) for integrating the Bijapur renewable energy zone (REZ) in Karnataka.

G R Infraprojects has announced that the company has received a letter of intent (LoI) from PFC Consulting Ltd. to establish an inter-state transmission system (ISTS) to integrate the Bijapur renewable energy zone (REZ) in Karnataka.

The quoted transmission cost for the project is INR 107.7 crore per annum. The project needs to be completed within 24 months on a build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis.

The scope of work includes the establishment of 400/220 kV, 5x500 MVA pooling station near Bijapur, Bijapur PS – Raichur New 400kV (Quad ACSR moose) D/c line and 400 kV line bays – two (at Raichur New) 2x125MVAr 420kV bus reactors at Bijapur PS.

In September 2024, G R Infraprojects acquired Tumkur-II REZ Power Transmission from REC Power Development and Consultancy for about INR 6.72 crore via a share purchase agreement. The transmission project is to evacuate about 1.5 GW of power from the REZ.
