FLX Pro and Lynxplanner prepared for the market

Danfoss announced that the FLX inverter has been released for wholesale and the Lynxplanner, has had an update.

January 23, 2014. By Gisela Bühl

Already prior to the wholesale release the FLX has proven its high reliability in plants across Europe. The fact is FLX has been released for sales to selected projects for the past 6 months. Also Danfoss’ own 2.1 MW plant is amongst those benefitting from the FLX.

The installers that have worked with the FLX have been very satisfied with this second generation inverter.

Experienced PV installers from  SolarPark DK A/S, a subsidiary of  SolarPark Rödenäs in Germany, made the inverter installation of the 126 FLX inverters on the 2.1 MW installation at Danfoss headquarters in Nordborg. Their impression of the inverter is very positive. As Helge Andersen from SolarPark DK A/S puts it: “you can easily lift the inverter into place and the wall plate is easy to use. Compliments for the design of the slots in the wall plate, where the inverter easily slides into place. It is brilliant”.

After having installed the AC on all 126 inverters the installers from NHJespersen are very experienced with the inverter. Their conclusion is clear. The inverter is very easy to work with.

“It is truly installer friendly” Kim Jeschko from NHJespersen says.  “It is easy to see that the inverter is thought through. The engineers have understood what the real life installation situation is really like. You have the space needed to comfortably make the cable installation” he finishes.

Released for sales

The FLX inverter has been released for sales with power sizes from 12.5-17kW. The release for the power sizes FLX 5-10 and a PLA option for all versions will follow in April.

FLX Inverter series - Three phase transformerless string inverter from 5-17kW

The FLX is the result of the accumulated knowledge of Danfoss’ considerable experience in the solar industry.  It is the answer to hassle free installation, high yields and easy commissioning and use. It is designed for reliability. Danfoss is the first inverter manufacturer to launch a 2nd generation three phase string inverter.  String inverters from Danfoss are well known for their flexibility and versatility.  As an international inverter with multiple languages and grid codes the FLX can be designed into both complex residential installations as well as giant power plants. The FLX is every bit as flexible as its predecessor, even adding power sizes to the range with 5, 7 and 9kW as well as 17kW inverters. It still has 1000VDC, 3 truly independent MPPTs, a very broad MPP range from 250-800 V and a flat efficiency curve, ensuring you get max utilization of your system. The FLX includes yield increasing features such as ACC (Adaptive Consumption Compensation) and DPD (Dynamic Power Distribution) to ensure high production even under grid limiting conditions. Advanced PV sweep, ensures that even in shading conditions you get the maximum utilization of the system. And an integrated PLA option enables easy adherence to regulations.

On the other hand Danfoss has updated Lynxplanner

Danfoss’ PV layout tool the Lynxplanner, a favorite among planners and reviewers alike now includes new functionality as well as a new look and feel. The tool is available for download under the download section of the Danfoss Solar Inverter homepage.

New functionalities

The new version of Lynxplanner contains more meteorological data from around the world, enabling more accurate calculations of projects. In addition the layout report that is generated at the end of the design phase has been extended with wiring diagrams and export functionalities. On the overview page more data and a simulation diagram has been included and it is possible to calculate CO2 emissions if that is of interest.

New look and Feel

The new Lynxplanner has been given a thorough face-lift with usability in mind. All aspects of the program have been evaluated and where a reason for change was identified the changes were made accordingly. Scaling, page design and help aids are amongst the areas where improvements have been made.

The focus has been on ensuring the user gets the very best user experience.

FLX compliance

The new Lynxplanner also includes data from the new FLX series inverters. When using the tool it is easy to see the versatility of the inverter, and the many different applications it can be used in.

Free to download and use

The Lynxplanner is free to use and download.
