China-based Envision Energy has procured a wind turbines deal from UAE-based AMEA Power for the Amunet 500 MW wind farm project in Egypt.
The project which got funding from a consortium of banks comprising the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC).
AMEA Power particularly selects Envision’s revolutionary EN 171-6.5 MW wind turbines for their unequaled efficiency, reliability, and ability to resist even the harshest environmental conditions.
The wind turbines were furnished with advanced control systems, these turbines optimise performance, maximise energy production, and minimise costly downtime and maintenance expenses.
The project is anticipated to be commenced by mid-2025, the Amunet project will play a crucial role in Egypt’s move toward feasible and clean energy.
By contributing to the country’s ambitious target of generating 42% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2035, the project will significantly reduce carbon emissions and bolster sustainability efforts.
Envision Energy’s General Manager of Asia and Africa, John Lee, stated the company’s expertise in new energy infrastructure, integrating renewable solutions with energy storage, digital grid technologies, and green hydrogen initiatives.
Amunet Wind Power Company is owned 60 percent by AMEA Power and 40 percent by Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation.
