Envision Energy India has announced its advanced EN 182/5MW onshore platform at WindEnergy Hamburg 2024. This new platform enhances annual energy output (AEP) by over 40 percent from its current EN 156/3.3MW platform.
This platform features a larger swept area and has enhanced turbine operational temperature till 50 degrees Centigrade ambient and 98 percent machine uptime in high wind speeds. The company further informed that it has started R&D for the EN 182/5MW platform, targeting delivery for Q1 2026.
The new 5MW onshore platform includes enhanced smoke and fire detection. Envision is also advancing its localisation efforts, aiming to increase from 60 percent for the EN 156/3.3MW platform to 75 percent, ensuring a robust and strengthened supply chain for the new platform.
Commenting on the development, RPV Prasad, MD, Envision Energy India said, “We are proud to introduce the 5MW onshore platform, which offers higher energy output and advanced features for our customers. The technological leap will transform India’s wind energy regime and catapult us to deliver highly efficient and superior machines. As the Indian wind energy market continues to grow, it will play a critical role in driving the country toward net zero.”
Kane Xu, Senior Vice President of Envision Energy and Chairman of Envision Energy India, remarked, “This new 5MW platform is a testament to our long-term commitment to offering superior technology solutions for customers in solving the challenges for a sustainable future. As a technology-driven company, Envision is dedicated to developing robust renewable energy solutions for the Indian market.”
Envision started its operations in India in 2017 with the launch of the EN 131/2.5 MW turbine. In 2021, another high-performance turbine platform EN 156/3.3MW received strong acclaim from 21 IPP customers, enabling the company to execute projects across six states.
With an investment of around INR 500 crore, Envision has established India as one of its strategic markets creating over 2,500 direct and indirect job opportunities.
To maintain this growth trend, the company set up an annual manufacturing capacity of 3 GW in India with its own state-of-the-art manufacturing plant for Nacelle and Hub in Pune and for blades in Trichy.
