Indore-based carbon credits developer and supplier EKI Energy Services Ltd (EKI) has collaborated with Norway-based DNV Supply Chain & Product Assurance, an independent assurance and risk management services provider, to promote awareness and support the governance of the climate transition ecosystem.

Under the Charter of Collaboration, EKI will extend its advisory services to DNV’s assurance customers on their journey towards carbon neutrality and net-zero in addition to GHG inventorization/ESG and sustainability assurance services.

The collaboration also seeks to bridge the gap between capital market sustainable finance and carbon finance by innovative debt financial instrument assurance with DNV's broad experience, deep expertise and global reach as the company is operating in over 100 countries.

Commenting on the development, Manish Dabkara, Chairman & MD of EKI Energy Services Ltd, said, "the global climate action has prompted a wave of national net-zero commitments as a result of which, an increasing number of businesses and organizations are setting their own carbon neutrality goals and to achieve their commitments, which required an effective and expert advisory support. EKI's team of climate experts is helping customers adopt and implement sustainable solutions for climate change and carbon offsets."

On the partnership with DNV, Dabkara said "through this collaboration, we aim to expand our global reach and extend our services to a larger group of customers together with DNV to ‘steer the planet towards net-zero.’ We look forward to facilitate our customers with innovative solutions and strengthen voluntary carbon market ecosystem."

“There is still a gap in the market how organisations monitor and report their carbon emissions and the clarity in their net zero goals. But we cannot avoid the fact that organisations are realizing the importance of reducing emissions and demonstrating their social and environmental responsibility, and in formulating and communicating their ambitions. Although the carbon emission reduction is a global challenge and a focus point for international policy. DNV has extensive knowledge of economic and business drivers such as the European Emission Trading Scheme (EU ETS3) and can advise on tools and options such as energy efficiency plans, life cycle analysis, carbon footprinting and bio-based production chains. With this collaboration we want to create awareness about the carbon credit market and help our customers to incentivize their carbon offset and emissions which will drive them towards the net zero journey,” said Prakash Tikare, Area Manager India Subcontinent & Middle East, DNV SCPA.

Through this collaboration, EKI will be enhancing its global reach and strengthening its network of global customers by creating awareness on climate change mitigation and adaptation. It will also support DNV assurance customers seeking to offset their residual emissions in their journey toward net-zero. Besides, there will also be a focus on digital carbon forward creation and tokenization of carbon credits.
