EKA Mobility has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GreenCell Mobility, a leading player in electric mass mobility. The collaboration aims to revolutionize intercity bus transportation by introducing 1000 electric buses in the 12-meter and 13.5-meter categories over the next few years.

Dr. Sudhir Mehta, Founder and Chairman of EKA Mobility, expressed the strategic importance of the partnership, stating, “Our collaboration with GreenCell Mobility is strategically positioned to usher in a cleaner, more sustainable future through electric mass transportation." He emphasized the positive impact of electrifying public transportation, especially intercity buses, which serve as the primary mode of transport for more than 50 percent of Indians.

Devndra Chawla, MD and CEO of GreenCell Mobility, commented on the collaboration, stating, “This partnership not only strengthens our position in the market but also significantly aligns with our long-term vision for sustainable mobility." He highlighted the joint efforts to transform public transportation, providing a cleaner, more efficient, and environmentally friendly solution.

EKA Mobility will take charge of the supply, sales, and service of the 1000 electric buses, ensuring the highest standards in this collaborative endeavor. The initiative is expected to have a substantial positive impact on the environment, with estimated annual fuel cost savings of INR 70 crores and the avoidance of 120 lakh gallons of diesel, equivalent to growing 15 lakh trees.

Furthermore, the initiative is projected to benefit around 6 lakh individuals daily through an improved and sustainable public transit infrastructure. The collaboration is expected to result in a significant reduction of CO2 emissions, contributing to building a cleaner and more sustainable future.

This partnership aligns with national and global initiatives towards sustainability, addressing the critical need for cleaner and more environmentally friendly transportation options. EKA Mobility, approved under the Government of India’s Auto PLI policy, is at the forefront of electric vehicle development, offering end-to-end design, manufacturing, and technology of electric commercial vehicles.

With a state-of-the-art research and development center in Pune, Maharashtra, EKA Mobility has a robust order book, including over 700 electric buses and 5000+ electric light commercial vehicle orders. All these vehicles will be designed and manufactured in India, further solidifying EKA's commitment to sustainable and indigenous electric mobility.
