DEWA and PowerChina Discuss Strategic Cooperation on Sustainable Energy Projects

In line with its efforts to strengthen its global leadership in sustainable energy solutions, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) hosted a high-level delegation from PowerChina to explore cooperation across various energy and water sectors.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, received the delegation, which included Peng Gang, Vice President of PowerChina-Intl and President of PowerChina MENA; Gao Fei, Vice President of PowerChina MENA; Chen Yunpeng, Vice President of SEPCOIII, a subsidiary of PowerChina; and Hong Li, Chief Representative of PowerChina in UAE.

The discussions focused on potential collaboration in renewable energy projects, smart grid solutions, water infrastructure development, and joint research and development initiatives. Both parties expressed a strong interest in strategic collaboration, paving the way for future joint ventures.

Al Tayer highlighted DEWA's dedication to sustainability and innovation, particularly in line with the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050, which aim to source 100 percent of Dubai's energy from clean energy sources by 2050.

PowerChina, known for its expertise in clean energy, water infrastructure, and sustainable development, showed enthusiasm for collaborating with DEWA. The company aims to explore new ventures and exchange knowledge and expertise in the energy and water sectors.
