Development of new Advanced Rotating Shadowband Irradiation Meter (ARSIM)

To improve reliability and precision

Sun to Market Solutions, an independent engineering firm, is developing a new improved and more economical version of existing Rotating Shadowband Pyranometers (RSPs), which will widen the field of use for this kind of instruments. ARSIM is S2m’s new product for solar data measurement which follows the successful implementation of Nowcasting systems for short term solar and weather prediction for solar power plant optimization.

ARSIM’s two main objectives:

Reduce the price considerably by improving manufacturing standard techniques.
Improve reliability and precision by new algorithms measuring transitory cloudy days.

Cost cutting will be achieved by new 3D printing technology and purpose designed data logger, which are part of the development.
