Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is an apex industry organization in India. FICCI facilitates business-to-business linkages, promotes trade and investment linkages, creates awareness, provides inputs for policymaking, acts as a conduit for government-industry exchange and promotes bilateral ties with other countries. FICCI is strongly engaged with the Indian solar energy sector to enable its growth, advance its business interests and linkages with stakeholders in the domestic as well as international domains.

FICCI is taking a high level Solar Energy Business Delegation to Germany and is organizing a half day side event Conference on “Destination India: Opportunities for Investments in Solar Energy in India” on June 12, 2012 from 14:00-18:00 Hrs at Room 3, Intersolar Europe 2012 Conference, ICM, Munich.

Intersolar Europe 2012 will take place at the Munich Trade Fair Centre from June 13 to 15. Today, it is the world’s largest exhibition for the solar industry, and looks back on a history spanning more than twenty years. In 2011, 2,286 international exhibitors and around 77,000 trade visitors were welcomed to Intersolar Europe. The accompanying Intersolar Europe Conference consolidates the topics of the exhibition. In 2011, more than 400 speakers and around 2,500 attendees discussed current industry topics and investigated the background of technological, market and political developments. The launch of Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM), state solar policies by some states and Renewable Energy Obligation with specific target for Solar Energy has resulted in rise in interest and demand for solar energy in India. Further to create demand and attract investment in the solar energy sector the governments both at the central and state levels are providing favorable policy framework and impetus to position India as the emerging solar energy market in the world.

The FICCI side event Conference on Destination India this year will highlight on the investment opportunities in India and aims to draw leading international stakeholders and market players to Indian solar energy market and showcase opportunities for investments and business collaborations in India, initiatives for promotion and creation of demand for Solar Energy, current state of play and trends focusing on the requirements of Indian industry specially the financing and supply chain requirements and business potential.

Conference on Destination India will feature the most prominent industry leaders and government officials providing informative and inspiring discussions pertaining to India’s current needs and requirement as well as ambitious future.
