Delta Electronics Inaugurates New EV Plant in Thailand
The new facilities are poised to facilitate Delta’s expansion of production and development of electric vehicle (EV) power electronics products for its global clientele.

Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. has launched its cutting-edge Delta Plant 8 and R&D Center at Bangpoo Industrial Estate, Thailand, marking a significant milestone in Delta’s 35-year journey in the country.
The new facilities are poised to facilitate Delta’s expansion of production and development of electric vehicle (EV) power electronics products for its global clientele.
The grand opening ceremony witnessed the participation of esteemed guests including Srettha Thavisin, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, along with representatives from the Ministry of Industry and the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI). Delta management from headquarters, alongside key industry partners and media, also attended the event, exploring the advanced production lines showcased at the facilities.
In a special address at the event, Prime Minister Thavisin expressed the government’s support for Delta Electronics Thailand as a leading electronics manufacturer and exporter. He highlighted the company’s readiness to support Thailand’s policies, particularly in transforming the nation into a future mobility hub and a digital economy hub.
Victor Cheng, CEO of Delta Thailand, underscored the significance of the inauguration, stating, “Today marks a milestone in Delta’s 35 years of development in Thailand. With the inauguration of Delta Plant 8 and our new R&D center, we aim to meet the growing demand for our EV products. We believe our significant investments will greatly benefit the industry, economy, and environment of Thailand and the Southeast Asia region.”
Delta’s EV product range encompasses power management products such as onboard chargers and DC/DC converters, powertrain products including traction inverters and traction motors, as well as thermal management solutions and passive components. Serving global customers including top automotive manufacturers from Europe, the USA, and Japan, Delta Thailand has been producing EV power electronics products since 2010 at Delta Plant 1. The new facilities, spanning 30,400 square meters, are expected to bolster production capacity to cater to the rapidly growing EV business.
Delta’s advanced automotive production processes encompass all stages from raw materials receiving and storage to sub-processing, SMT processing, PWBA processing, assembly, and burn-in with final testing before shipment. The investment of almost THB 3 billion for the facilities underscores Delta’s commitment to energy-efficient building automation solutions and smart manufacturing solutions to enhance productivity and quality on production lines.
Celebrating 35 years of development, Delta Thailand’s commitment to sustainability has earned it a place on the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices’ World Index and recognition as a Supplier Engagement Leader by CDP. As it enters a new phase of growth, Delta Thailand aims to expand its R&D, manufacturing, and business footprint in local markets, supporting the development of Thailand’s next-gen automotive and smart electronics industries while laying a solid foundation for expansion in the Southeast Asia region.
