Delhi Plans to Add 400 EVs in Fleet, Surges 800 Mark

Delhi Lt Governor V K Saxena and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal plan to add 400 electric buses, taking the number of electric buses to 800 in the region.

The officials stated, "These buses are part of the 921 buses under the subsidy scheme, for which a subsidy of INR 417 crore has been given by the Centre and the Delhi government will spend INR 3,674 crore.”

The aim is to launch an overall of 8,000 electric buses on the roads of Delhi by the end of 2025. In addition, there will be more than 10,000 buses in Delhi, of which 80 percent will be electric.

The augmentation of these environment-friendly buses aligns with Delhi’s commitment to combat air pollution and offset the carbon footprint. As the city constantly invests in sustainable public transportation, it moves closer to becoming a worldwide example of electric mobility solutions.
