CleanMax Wins Cisco Sustainability Award for 92 MW Project in Karnataka

A significant stride in this partnership is the commissioning of a state-of-the-art 92.1 MW hybrid wind-solar project in Jagluru, Karnataka, which now powers Cisco’s India campus — one of its largest outside the United States.

CleanMax, a Brookfield-backed company and net-zero solution providers for the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) sector, has been recognised with the Excellence in Sustainability Award at Cisco's Global Supplier Day in San Jose, California for its impactful contributions in reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, including a recent 92.1 megawatt (MW) renewable energy partnership with Cisco.

This award underscores the long-term collaboration between CleanMax and Cisco, marked by multiple impactful renewable energy initiatives since 2017.

Over the years, CleanMax has collaborated with Cisco to deliver reliable and tailored renewable energy solutions that align with Cisco’s goals. A significant stride in this partnership is the commissioning of a state-of-the-art 92.1 MW hybrid wind-solar project in Jagluru, Karnataka, which now powers Cisco’s India campus — one of its largest outside the United States. This project marks a major milestone in Cisco’s goal to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2040.

Today, CleanMax powers the campus with approximately 120 MW of renewable energy, including 92.1 MW recently commissioned and 28.7 MWp in operation since March 2018. This hybrid energy solution is projected to generate approximately 181.4 million kWh annually, helping avoid about 0.129 million metric tonnes CO2e of greenhouse gas emissions each year— equivalent to planting over 1.973 million trees in India annually.

The renewable energy installation combines 69 MWp of solar with 23.1 MW of wind energy, empowering Cisco to address over 90 percent of its electricity needs in Karnataka. By integrating solar and wind energy on a larger scale, this partnership enables Cisco to diversify its energy sources and reduce GHG emissions, further reinforcing CleanMax’s role as a net-zero partner for the global technology leader.

Kuldeep Jain, Managing Director of CleanMax, shares his delight, “This award from Cisco reflects our shared commitment to the environment and the journey we have taken together over the past several years. As a net-zero partner, CleanMax is focused on empowering corporations to meet their renewable energy requirements, and we are excited to be part of that journey with a tech giant like Cisco. Our partnership with Cisco underscores a shared commitment to high standards and sustainable practices. This accolade also reflects CleanMax’s dedication to delivering tailored, long-term decarbonization solutions that align with the energy goals of our clients.”

Mary de Wysocki, Chief Sustainability Officer, Cisco said “As a trusted technology partner to businesses across the country, we are committed to powering an inclusive future for all. Recognizing partners who have helped customers achieve substantial business outcomes, the Excellence in Sustainability Award celebrates CleanMax's dedication to accelerating the availability of clean energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
