CESC Ltd. has awarded a Letter of Award (LoA) to its subsidiary, Purvah Green Power Pvt. Ltd. (Purvah), for setting up of 150 MW ISTS connected wind-solar hybrid power projects in India.

This decision follows Purvah’s response to the Request for Selection (RFS) issued by CESC under the Ministry of Power’s guidelines for tariff-based competitive bidding for grid-connected wind-solar hybrid projects. In addition to the primary 150 MW capacity, the project will also include an additional 150 MW under the Greenshoe option.

The firm said in its filing, "The aforesaid project is under tariff-based competitive bidding and is at arm’s length basis and in the ordinary course of business."

The power purchase agreement (PPA) for the project, once signed, will remain in effect for 25 years from the scheduled commencement date of power supply. This collaboration reflects CESC’s commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio in line with the Indian government’s renewable energy goals. The project will be executed by Purvah, a domestic entity and subsidiary of CESC, ensuring local involvement in India’s energy transition.

The wind-solar hybrid project will contribute significantly to India’s green energy sector and is part of CESC’s broader strategy to enhance its footprint in the renewable energy market. The company continues to prioritise sustainability and innovation in its energy projects.
