California-based green energy pioneer Candela Renewables has announced that the company has started construction on its first utility-scale solar project, the 7V Solar Ranch project based in Fayette County, Texas, which will provide up to 240 MWAC of green, renewable solar energy to the ERCOT market.

At the very beginning of 2021 Candela entered into a new partnership with Naturgy Energy Group. The partnership enabled the company to broaden its access to capital funds and also supported its ability to scale.

This is the first project that Candela has started in the partnership. Naturgy will own and operate this project in the US and it will become the company’s largest operating solar project in the world.

Incepted in 2018 by former First Solar executives, Candela Renewables has one of the most accomplished teams developing utility-scale solar and storage projects in the United States.

Candela is active in markets across the US, including CAISO, WECC, ERCOT, PJM, NYISO, the Southeast & MISO.

The company focuses on advancing utility-scale solar development across the U.S. The company is committed to bringing sustainable, affordable energy to more homes and businesses, and the latest action is the right step forward keeping in line with that vision.
