The Bihar State Power Generation Company Ltd (BSPGCL) has announced a tender seeking a solar developer for the development of a substantial 185 MW solar project in Kajra, Lakhisarai district.

Adding to the project's robustness, a cutting-edge 254 MW Battery Energy Storage System will complement the solar installation.

The Battery Energy Storage System is earmarked for ensuring a maximum power delivery of 45.4 MW for a duration of four hours, enhancing the project's reliability and grid integration capabilities.

Prospective solar developers are required to submit their bids by January 4, 2024, with the bidding process officially commencing on the same day. The selected bidder is expected to commission the ambitious project within 18 months from the date of being awarded the Letter of Award. To express serious intent, solar developers must provide an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of INR 2,26,000.

The scope of work outlined in the tender encompasses a call for consultancy firms to participate in bidding for Owners Engineer (OE) services. These services will span the design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning phases of the renewable energy project.

Furthermore, the successful solar developer will be entrusted with the operation and maintenance of the facility for ten years, ensuring the long-term efficiency and sustainability of the solar project and its integrated Battery Energy Storage System.
