BrightNight has announced the appointment of Naveen Khandelwal as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BrightNight India.

Naveen, formerly the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at BrightNight India, will spearhead the company's transition from project development to construction and operations in its next phase of growth.

Martin Hermann, CEO of BrightNight, expressed confidence in Naveen's capabilities, stating, "Naveen has a depth of experience in corporate development, business growth, operations, and financing, which will be extremely valuable to us as we scale our buildout in India."

Hermann highlighted Naveen's critical role in establishing a strong presence in India and leading the introduction of round-the-clock (RTC) hybrid renewable solutions in one of the largest and fastest-growing power markets globally.

Naveen, a veteran with over 21 years of leadership in Indian energy markets, was a founding team member of two large and reputable Indian renewable energy Independent Power Producers (IPPs) with GW-size wind and solar portfolios.

Over the last 12 years, Naveen has led capital raises exceeding USD 2.75 billion USD for renewable energy platforms. Notably, he played a pivotal role in securing BrightNight's USD 250 million equity partnership with ACEN Corporation, accelerating the development, construction, and operation of BrightNight's multi-technology renewable portfolio in India.

BrightNight has identified India as a core market, with plans to deliver its first project, a distinctive 100 MW co-located wind-solar hybrid renewable power project in Maharashtra. Utilizing its proprietary software platform, PowerAlphaTM, BrightNight aims to optimize project design for maximum value at the lowest cost.

The company is actively participating in utility-scale RTC and peak power tenders, intending to implement multiple large-scale projects connected to the Central Transmission Utility (CTU).
