BrightNight has appointed Kapil Kasotia as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for India to fast-track the execution of its multi-gigawatt dispatchable renewable energy portfolio across key states.
With over two decades of leadership experience in renewable energy and infrastructure, Kapil has a strong track record in scaling businesses, optimizing operations, and driving growth. He has previously held leadership roles at Sembcorp, Vena Energy, and Amp Energy.
As COO of BrightNight India, Kapil will refine operational strategy, fast-track project execution, and enhance process efficiency. His leadership comes at a pivotal time, as BrightNight expands its renewable energy footprint across India.
Earlier this year, BrightNight commissioned the first phase of its 115 MW hybrid renewable project in Maharashtra, one of the state’s first co-located wind-solar projects. With this milestone, the company marked its first-ever energy delivery into the Indian grid. BrightNight is now preparing to begin construction on two large-scale projects in Rajasthan, integrating wind, solar, and battery energy storage to deliver peak power to off-takers on the national grid.
Beyond Rajasthan, BrightNight is actively developing hybrid renewable projects across Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. Kapil, who will be based in Gurugram, Haryana, will propel this expansion, advancing BrightNight’s mission to accelerate India's clean energy transition.
