BHEL Commences 5 MW Solar Plant in Bhopal to Boost Greener Future
The solar plant spreading 20 acres, is anticipated to produce 79 lakh kilowatt-hours of electricity yearly, yielding savings of around INR 5.5 crore.

The Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Nalin Singhal, introduced a 5 MW solar plant at the BHEL unit in Bhopal.
During the launch ceremony, Dr. Singhal underlined the importance of environmental protection and BHEL’s commitment to boosting a greener future through initiatives including tree plantation.
The solar plant spreading 20 acres, is anticipated to produce 79 lakh kilowatt-hours of electricity yearly, yielding savings of around INR 5.5 crore.
The construction of the plant, costing around INR 22 crore, was undertaken using BHEL’s internal resources.
Dr. Singhal also inaugurated the EDM Wirecut Machine in the Tool & Gauge Department and visited multiple blocks and departments within the BHEL Bhopal Plant.
He emphasised the crucial of timely delivery and high-quality production during his inspection.
