BCL Industries to Set Up 75 KLPD Bio-Energy Plant in West Bengal

Punjab-based renewable energy company BCL Industries has announced plans to invest approximately INR 150 crore in a 75 KLPD bio-energy plant in West Bengal. It has also received environmental clearance (EC) to establish another 150 KLPD ethanol manufacturing plant at its Bathinda distillery.

Punjab-based renewable energy company BCL Industries has announced that it will be setting up a bio-energy plant in West Bengal with an approximate investment of about INR 150 crore.

Svaksha Distillery Ltd., a subsidiary of BCL Industries, in its normal course of business, has received consent to establish a 75 KLPD bio-diesel plant along with an oil extraction plant at its Kharagpur unit with an estimated project cost of INR 150 crore, informed the company in an exchange filing.

The company further informed that it has received environmental clearance (EC) to establish another 150 KLPD ethanol manufacturing plant at its Bathinda distillery. The work for the same will begin in the coming months.

“Additionally, the work on 75 KLPD Bio-Diesel plant at Bathinda distillery is going on in full swing. These moves will further enhance the capabilities of the company and re-enforce its commitment towards green energy initiatives,” it said.

In October, BCL Industries unveiled plans to invest INR 350 crore in establishing a biogas plant and a distillery in Haryana.

As part of its efforts to expand green initiatives, the company announced setting up biogas plants of around 20 MTPD in Fatehabad.
