SJVN’s tender which was floated in March this year, for selecting developers to deliver 1200 MW of firm and dispatchable power from renewable energy projects with energy storage systems has attracted a tariff of INR 4.25/kWh.
Four developers, namely Juniper Green Energy, ReNew, Ganeko Solar (Zelestra) and Hero Solar Energy won their bid capacity by quoting the lowest bid of INR 4.25/kWh. While Juniper Green Energy has been allocated 200 MW capacity, ReNew, Zelestra and Hero Solar have won 150 MW, 140 MW and 120 MW respectively.
The balance 590 MW was awarded to Avaada at a tariff of INR 4.26/kWh under bucket bucket-filling method.
Winning developers will set up ISTS-connected renewable projects with energy storage systems to supply firm and dispatchable power using commercially established and operational technologies. The projects are to be developed on a build-own-operate basis and SJVN will enter into a 25-year PPA.
